Typically I keep a stash of frames to use on my art that is going to shows or in a gallery.  I switch them out from depending on what frame works with what show and that piece of art.  Several years ago I was in an art show in Fredericksburg, TX and noticed that a lot of the art had really nice, elegant frames on them.  Fredericksburg is known for it's art galleries and I was thrilled to be participating in a show there. It make me think about frames.  Of course, frames are very personal to the person who buys art and many times I sell my art without frames, particularly when you factor in the cost of shipping. 

HOWEVER, I just completed this beautiful painting that is pretty dramatic and I felt it needed a truly elegant frame, something a discerning purchaser would notice.  It was very expensive and this is a small painting - only 8 x 10.  I had a vision of the kind of frame that would really set this piece off in a home.  Here is the painting, as well as the frame it will go in.  It will be finished in time for the Baton Rouge Art League show this weekend.
