It is so gratifying to have someone commission me to paint something for them - especially when we both love the subject matter.  Leah and Webb Wartelle attended an open house at my studio and purchased a painting to take to their son in Australia for Christmas.  Webb also loved my minature sunset painting but wanted something larger.  We agreed on a size and the artwork was finished last fall.  Today I received an email from Webb that said:  "We wanted to tell you how much we are enjoying the "Palm Tree Sunset" that you painted for us. This painting is very dear to our hearts and brings back wonderful memories of our trips to the Islands and is a daily reminder of the friendship that we have formed."  

That is such a wonderful testimonial because the painting was doing what they had hoped - that it would bring some peace and calm to Webb's office!  I always tell people who commission my work that if they don't like it when it's complete then they don't have to buy it.  I want them to experience what the Wartelle's did - it means my art is in a place to be treasured and all those hours painting it were more than justified!
