Pat Wattam » Lake Tahoe Duck

On vacation in Lake Tahoe we were totally taken with the color of the water - made you think you were at the beach.  I believe the water color is because the lake is so deep.  From our boat, this duck just looked so peaceful, paddling around in all that beautiful water.  I couldn't wait to paint him - or maybe it was the water I couldn't wait to paint!  Anyway, he's a fine looking duck!  

In painting the duck, the challenge was keeping the water color as it truely was that day, and yet, still being able to see the details in the ducks head - it was so beautiful - I particularly loved his expression!
