Pat Wattam » Waimea Bay in Hawaii

This is Waimea Bay on the north shore of Oahu in Hawaii in the winter.  We like to come in around new year because that's when the big surf comes in to the north shore.  We have missed the really big waves (25-50') but only a day - several times!!  This day we had 10-14' surf.  I love the mountains the background, and the color of the water, and the splash in the background as the water hits the rocky section.  This is a large painting with galley wrap and fits beautifully over a mantle.
