Pat Wattam » The Watcher

As you might notice, most of my paintings are from our vacations!  This bird was in the Acadia National Park in Maine.  We were hiking on a ridge overlooking the water and this bird was watching our every move!  I think we were invading his turf!!  I enjoyed making the texture on the rocks.  Phthalo blue is one of my favorite colors.  When I couldn't get the blue right in the feathers, I added a touch of phthalo blue and it worked!!  And, there are puddles of water on the rocks reflecting the sky - like icing on the cake!
